Nordahl, Berit

Berit Nordahl is head of research in the Department of Housing and Environmental Planning Research. Time for own research is limited, and is currently centred on local housing policy. In my own research I have retained a focus on land development policy, decision making and development. Private sector partners play a key role in land development and in a current study I look at how local councils work to promote housing policy objectives through dialogue, networks with private sector partners and market enterprise. The work builds on insights into relations between the market and public authorities explored in greater breadth on decision making and urban transformation. The Planning and Building Act constitutes an essential institutional framework for public-private partnerships, and amendments to the law attract considerable interest, both in Norway and other countries.
